We are Mike and Lynn Hodson - grew up in Ventura County and traded suburbia for the quiet beauty of the Sierra Foothills and a life rooted in purpose, land, and honest work. After years of serving our country and community, raising a blended family - including adopted foster children - we felt called to create something simpler, cleaner and more connected.

Our little ranch in Rough and Ready is the result of that calling. We’re not just ranchers, we’re stewards of the land, animal advocates, and believers in doing things the right way, even when it takes more time.

On our ranch, hogs enjoy open pasture, sunshine, fresh air, and the natural behaviors that make them thrive. They’re fed a wholesome mix of fresh farm produce, and natural feed and given the time and freedom to grow slowly and healthfully.

We believe food tastes better when it comes from animals that have truly lived well. And we believe people feel better when they know exactly where their food comes from - and the care that went into raising it.

This ranch is our way of blending everything that matters to us: family, community, animal welfare, sustainability, and nourishing people with food they can trust and feel good about.
